I stopped by Fort Point yesterday hoping to catch some surfers taking advantage of the first big swell of the winter season. But, the tide and swell direction weren’t quite right for surfing.
I headed up to the top level of the fort and got a couple other pics. The Coast Guard motor lifeboat was beading back in under the Golden Gate Bridge.
And a seagull was watching a sailboat regatta.
A couple windsurfers and kitesurfers were making the most of Labor Day and got in a great session under the Golden Gate Bridge.
There were ten guys out at Fort Point today enjoying some clean overhead surf. The wall was lined with spectators. Check out the photos…
The wind was light at Crissy Field today and only a couple of windsurfers were out so I headed up to Fort Point to see if anyone was surfing. There was a pretty good sized swell with the best rides coming on waves breaking outside the Gate like the one shown below.

Today the surf was looking good at Fort Point so I headed down to sit on the wall and capture some of the action. There were a bunch of surfers out.
Steve Bodner (USA4) and David Wells (46) were both out riding their formula windsurfing gear out under the bridge. The shot of David duck jibing his formula gear was featured in Windsurfing Magazine.
