Very sad to hear of Bill Weir's passing. Last week we lost another Crissy Field windsurfing legend, Ted Lowe. Both will be missed for the energy and spirit they brought to the world. Thank you for taking the photos and making them available.

Streamlined part of the visit 2 weeks ago. Stayed a night at Curly Redwood Lodge in Crescent City. And 2 nights north at Harris Beach State Park to enjoy ocean air at night and a few cable TV channels.

Did a bunch of exploring. Literally went up a mountain in Jedediah Smith redwoods through a valley and bushwhacked through huge huckleberry down the opposite side. And Tall Trees Grove in RNP the day before.

Humboldt Redwoods had great facilities. The bathrooms were well taken care of and stocked with toilet paper. The showers were 50 cents for 5 minutes of hot water. And the ranger had firewood for sale that was a lot cheaper than the San Francisco Safeway.

How were the campgrounds there - like for showers and stuff?

Prairie Creek to the north has sort of bare-bones 2 shower stalls. Near Jedediah Smith redwoods, I usually stay about 25 minutes north at Harris Beach State Park, with multiple showers - even a laundry room.

In Trinidad, there is an Emerald Forest RV resort & campground that was pretty decent.

I sailed from 5:30-6:30 on my 6.3 more wound than Ive ever been this season. Id guess it was gusting in the mid 30s- enough for me to make about 1/2 my gybes!
Nice eye as always!
