Today I headed up to Sebastopol to do some scouting for a wedding I am photographing next month. The wedding will be at Sova Gardens. It looks like a great spot for a wedding. The site is sectioned off into several different outdoor areas some great locations for photographs – flowers, trees, and an old barn. Here’s a shot of the entrance…
The city of San Jose has sectioned off a large area of Kelley Park where they now feature 27 restored homes, businesses and other landmarks representing the history of the Santa Clara Valley. After photographing a wedding there today, I can definitely say History Park is a great place for a wedding.
The bride and groom fully utilized the space of the park by having the ceremony on the porch of one of the houses, appetizers and lawn games in another area, and dinner and dancing in yet another. As a bonus, guests were able to ride around the park on the streetcar.
I’m still processing through all the images I shot, but here are a couple. The bathtub served as the drink cooler.
Yesterday, I shot photos at a wedding at the Italian Athletic Club in San Francisco’s North Beach district. The setup was a little challenging because the entire event was inside and after dark. I set up a mini photo studio in the gym of the club and did some group portrait shots there.
Yesterday, I photographed a wedding at the San Benito House in downtown Half Moon Bay, CA. Luckily for the bride and groom to be (and me too) the weather was beautiful with not even a hint of the typical fog. The entire event was held outside and the back garden and patio were decorated beautifully. The old hotel presented plenty of great locations for all sorts of photos.
Yesterday I shot photos at a wedding at the R.H. Phillips winery. The ceremony was held at sunset atop one of the hills overlooking the vineyard. The tasting room was set up for the reception with dinner served outside and dancing held inside. Hopefully, you’ll be seeing some of my photos posted on the R.H. Phillips website soon.
I helped Genevieve Stevens shoot a wedding today in Marin. We first met the bride and groom in Tiburon for some photos near the water and then headed off to Mill Valley for the ceremony and reception.
Today I photographed a wedding at the One Market restaurant in San Francisco. The ceremony was held in the building atrium behind the restaurant.
Today I shot photos at my sister-in-law’s wedding in Cupertino. The ceremony was held in the local Catholic church and the reception was held at a nearby country club.
Wedding photographer Genevieve Stevens asked me to help her at a wedding today at Silverado in Napa, CA. The entire event is outdoors and the weather is supposed to be great – hopefully some good photo opportunities.
Today I took some photos at my sister’s wedding in Virginia. The ceremony and reception were held at a little bed and breakfast. Congratulations Michelle and Scott!
