Finally a windy day!

Thursday, September 27th, 2007
After a week of waiting, the wind finally came. It brought with it the fog and cold. I got in a little time on the windsurfing slalom gear and was able to record a top speed of 32mph even though there was a lot of chop due to the strong wind and ebb tide. After sailing, I got a few shots of everyone getting ready for the Thursday night kitesurfing race hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club. Kitesurfing

Midday surfing

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

It’s not often that I get a chance to go to the beach in the middle of the day on a weekday, but today was just one of those days. I was hoping to get in some windsurfing, but the wind was not even close to cooperating (8mph). Instead, I headed over to Ocean Beach @ Sloat to see if there was any surf. There was, and a bunch of surfers were out. The light was a bit tricky, but I got a few shots.

CD Launch Party

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

A few months ago I shot some photos for musician, Curt Yagi. He’s now got them posted on his website and will be using them on the cover of his new album. He’s releasing a new CD and has a launch party planned for November 9th in San Francisco. Listen to his music and check out all the details of the launch party at his new website - curtyagi.com.

Here’s how someone described his music -

“Imagine waking up on a rainy Sunday morning, not wanting to get out of bed and craving something to ease your mind, body, and soul. With percussive guitar licks, breathy vocals, rhythmic beats, and driving bass lines, Curt’s music will get you started on the right foot and keep you going for the entire day.”

Evening session at Crissy Field

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

I looked at the weather report and it said the wind was blowing 27mph at Crissy so I grabbed my camera gear and headed down. The sun was already pretty low in the sky but there were still at least 20 sailors out. I was able to get about 100 pictures before the sun went down. Lots of good jibes and cool freestyle tricks.

Rolex Big Boat Series Regatta

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

The Rolex Big Boat Series Regatta is starting tomorrow at the St. Francis Yacht Club and runs through Sunday. I’m planning to head down on Saturday and Sunday to get some photos. It looks like there are more than 100 boats expected. I’m looking forward to seeing how fast the Melges 32’s are in the SF Bay conditions. For now, check out photos of past events…
